Home Assistant — Personal Nest Integration
Effective October 10, 2026
Purpose and access
This integration is operated by the account owner for personal home automation. With the owner's authorization, Home Assistant accesses the Nest device information, state, events, and supported controls permitted through Google's Smart Device Management API. Google OAuth authorization allows this connection; the information pages on this website do not request Google account access.
Use and sharing
Authorized Nest data is used in the owner's Home Assistant installation to display device state and support personal automations and controls. Google processes API requests and delivers events through Google Cloud Pub/Sub. Home Assistant can make selected state and controls available through the owner's configured personal home integrations, including HomeKit. Nest data is not published on this website. The integration's purpose is personal home automation, not advertising or a public data service.
Storage and deletion
Home Assistant may retain device state history and diagnostic logs under the owner's configuration. Installation backups may also contain integration configuration and stored data. Retention depends on the owner's Home Assistant, logging, and backup settings; this policy does not promise a fixed deletion period.
The owner can revoke access through Google's connected-app or Nest partner-connection settings and remove the integration from Home Assistant. Revoking access stops future authorized access; it does not automatically delete existing history, logs, or backups. Those are managed separately by the owner.
